Art serves as a mirror of society — accessible, inspiring, and boundless in the way it connects with people. In the past, appreciating art was often limited to museums or galleries. Today, the concept of public art has grown increasingly relevant for its accessibility and its ability to reflect contemporary life, fostering a more interactive experience for the viewer.

One Bangkok embraces this evolution by creating spaces where the public can easily engage with world-class artworks through the One Bangkok Public Art Collection. With the concept of Open Up Art to Life, the development seamlessly integrates art into urban living. Through the Art Loop, a curated route of site-specific art installations and cultural activities, visitors are invited to explore and interpret art freely, igniting limitless inspiration and imagination. This immersive experience transforms One Bangkok into a living canvas—an urban art journey without boundaries.

Unveiling Public Art at One Bangkok

A standout feature of art pieces at One Bangkok is how each piece of artwork is thoughtfully integrated into the urban environment. The Art Loop spans over 2 kilometres, creating a connected trail of artistic expression throughout the project. These are some landmark works featured at various art piece locales in One Bangkok that you won’t want to miss:

1. Zero by Elmgreen & Dragset

Zero, created by internationally renowned artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset, is a striking and thought-provoking public sculpture. Designed as a vertical swimming pool, the piece challenges viewers' perception while inviting them to inject their own interpretations into the void within. The installation offers a unique experience that merges art, architecture, and urban context into one cohesive narrative.

2. Fly by Alex Face

Fly is the largest bronze sculpture ever created by Alex Face, one of Thailand’s most celebrated street artists. The piece symbolises humanity’s longing to rise above limitations, represented by a character drifting upward on a plume of white smoke from a spray can. A standout challenge in its creation was engineering the delicate, floating "smoke" element to realistically support the sculpture’s full weight, demonstrating artistic ingenuity and engineering excellence. This is the first in a series of three pieces and the only one on display in Thailand.

3. It is, It isn’t by Tony Cragg

British sculptor Tony Cragg, recognised as a leading figure in contemporary sculpture, created It Is, It Isn’t, 7.8-meter stainless steel abstract form inspired by the human body. Its flowing curves and highly polished surface seems to change appearance depending on viewing angles, light, and reflections, prompting introspective questions: "Is it? Or isn’t it?" The piece exemplifies Cragg’s mastery of blending industrial materials with a site-specific sensibility.

4. S-Curve by Anish Kapoor

Renowned for his monumental sculptures, Anish Kapoor presents S-Curve, a mesmerizing reflective installation crafted from polished stainless steel. The sculpture’s curved surfaces distort and merge reflections of people, cityscapes, and surrounding nature, creating a dynamic visual experience. First exhibited globally in 2006, this edition is the inaugural piece in a set of three and is now permanently installed at One Bangkok.

One Bangkok: A Cultural Destination at the Heart of the City

Beyond public installations, One Bangkok is envisioned as a Cultural Hub—a place where art, architecture, and urban development converge. The vision behind its artistic and spatial design reflects three core principles:

Connecting Past and Future

Located on Wireless Road, a historically significant area of Bangkok, One Bangkok emphasises cultural heritage and architectural storytelling. The Wireless House, for example, serves as a narrative space expressing a Sense of Roots, blending Thai historical elements with forward-thinking design, anchoring the past to a contemporary urban identity.

Integrating Art with Nature

The project's open spaces extend art beyond gallery walls. From outdoor sculptures scattered across public parks to landscaped areas incorporating artistic elements, One Bangkok makes art an interactive part of everyday life. Features such as patterned stone walkways and reflective fountain plazas create a harmonious dialogue between art, architecture, and nature, enhancing the experience of the Art Loop.

Embracing Digital and Interactive Technology

In the digital era, technology is woven into everyday experiences. One Bangkok incorporates AI, AR, and interactive art into its exhibitions, allowing visitors to engage with works in innovative and participatory ways, transforming traditional observation into meaningful interaction.

One Bangkok is more than just a large-scale development—it is a cultural epicentre in the heart of Bangkok, where the world-class art pieces at One Bangkok are harmoniously embedded into the fabric of the city. With a continuous rotation of exhibits, workshops, and diverse creative programs, One Bangkok offers a dynamic space for anyone seeking to experience these art pieces on display in One Bangkok firsthand.
