Consisting of a set of leaning posts, this public furniture was developed in collaboration with experts from various fields with the aim of transforming a conventional waiting area into a space for improved quality of life and human interactions. Its design concept is expressed through three different graphic motifs symbolising different stages of growth: seeds, leaves and flowers.
Structurally, B3X strikes a balance between sculpture-like aesthetic and durability. With an aluminium frame and a skin of fiberglass and chromium, it is lightweight yet strong, well suited for a high-traffic public area. Installed at the drop-off area in front of The Storeys, each leaning post has a different form and texture, allowing users to choose “the right space” for themselves. Representing a reinterpretation of memories and the journeys of urban dwellers, B3X stands as an example of how user-centric design can help turn a public area into a space for everyday experiences and stories.
