Composed of more than 15,000 ceramic pieces linked by stainless-steel bars using a technique inspired by traditional beadwork and garland-making, Origins Unfold is the largest sculpture ever created by the artist.
Crafted from local clays sourced from Chiang Mai and Lampang, two northern cities renowned as Thailand’s ceramic hubs, the work extends the artist’s ongoing Origins series, which explores ideas of place, self, and one’s roots through materials drawn from local soil. By elevating these concepts and materials while integrating new technology with traditional craftsmanship, the sculpture embodies a belief in the hidden potential of the land and of the people who shape it, offering a quiet gesture of welcome to all who pass before Andaz One Bangkok.
