The “Sanrio characters Half Marathon”, the largest licensed Sanrio running event ever held in Southeast Asia, organised by Young Sons concluded on Sunday, 27 September 2026, at One Bangkok. Runners from Thailand and abroad gathered in the early morning, joining in as members of six character squads: Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Kerokerokeroppi, Cinnamoroll, and Bad Badtz-Maru. Joining the event were well-known celebrity Sanrio fans, including Ja–Natthaweeranuch Thongmee, Rusameekae Fagerlund, and Aof–Pongsak Rattanaphong.
Catering to runners of all levels, the event offered a wide range of distances: Fun Race of 1.7K, 3.5K, 7K, and 10K, alongside 17K and 21K Half Marathon Participants set off from One Bangkok Boulevard, ran down Sathon Road, crossed the Chao Phraya River into Thonburi, and returned to cross the finish line back at One Bangkok.
Beyond the race, participants enjoyed a variety of post-run activities throughout the district. Highlights included photo opportunities with all six Sanrio character inflatables, food and beverages, and activities from event sponsors. Visitors could also enjoy special privileges at The Wireless Club booth. The event concluded with an award ceremony recognising top finishers in each race distance.
For those who missed the event, ‘The Heart of Bangkok’ will continue to host a rotating line-up of events and festivals, welcoming visitors throughout the year.
